Thank you for taking the time to check out my website. I’d been away from photography for a while but decided it was finally time to dust off my gear and get back into the swing of things. The photos that you’ll find here are a combination of reworked older images and more recent material as I find the time to get out and capture it; I hope you enjoy them. Below are a few of the details about myself…
- I’m one of those lucky photographers that gets to call the Pacific Northwest my home – actually, being originally from Idaho, I consider all the Northwest to be home.
- I love water, it all its forms – this is a good thing, considering I currently reside in a very wet place.
- For as long as I can remember I’ve been dabbling in the visual arts; sketching, watercolors, graphic design, a bit of film photography and then digital.
- As with any artist, my creative ability waxes and wanes – in other words, sometimes I suck and sometimes I don’t. 😉
- I purchased my first DSLR camera many years ago and from there plunged head-first into this craft – sometimes literally “head-first” as I’m not exactly graceful. 😮
- I use Photoshop to process my RAW images but prefer to simply coax the highlights and shadows until the image accurately represents what it actually looked like (or felt like) at the moment it was captured. The concept of replacing skies and other elements has never felt right to me.
- I’m a naturalist at heart and through training, often secretly scanning my surroundings for some unsuspecting visitor or newcomer to whom I might impart random bits of knowledge about this amazing region that I call home.
- I also tend to be a geek; if there’s a planning tool or calculator app that can help me get what I’m after… yeah, I’ve probably got it. 🤓
Thanks for looking!
